Rap Club and The Spit Game

OUR IMPACT

 Executive Summary

Rap Club Productions C.I.C is redefining music education and youth leadership by putting authentic Black culture at the heart of schools, studios and screens. In 2024–25, we ran 15 active Rap Clubs across London and Birmingham, engaging 157 young people — 80% of whom are Black or mixed heritage.

From exclusion to empowerment, our young people are leading the way: performing to crowds of over 95,000, creating BAFTA-qualifying films, and stepping into paid leadership roles. One of them now sits as our Director of Culture & Creative Strategy.

With 118,900 social followers and over 10 million views across TikTok and YouTube, our reach is growing — but the real story is in the schools, where engagement is rising, behaviour is shifting, and creative confidence is exploding.

Who We Are

Rap Club Productions C.I.C operates across two interconnected strands:

Rap club 🎓

Our award-winning youth education initiative. We deliver weekly clubs inside schools and youth centres, embedding rap and Black creative excellence directly into the curriculum. Young people are supported to express themselves, build real-world skills, and connect to positive role models.

 The Spit Game🎙️

Our youth-led creative collective and production house. From professional-standard films and music to live events, Spit Game nurtures the next generation of rappers, filmmakers, actors, producers, and cultural leaders. Every project is youth-developed, youth-delivered, and built from lived experience.

Together, we’re not just running programmes — we’re changing the system.

Skills & Growth

From entry-level to industry-ready — our programme supports every stage. Our high standards are reflected where Advanced level evidences excellence. Due to our successes, we also track those who are now actively working full-time in the creative industries - “Industry Level”. This includes a range of roles, from artist to A&R.

We meet young people wherever they’re at. Whether they’re writing their first 4-bar verse or performing at festivals, Rap Club gives them the tools, confidence, and real experience to grow.

  • 💬 127 participants started with low rap ability — 14 have reached professional industry level.

  • 💥 Through hands-on coaching, peer-led cyphers, and feedback loops, we build not just skills, but self-belief.

  • 🎓 Students who couldn’t rhyme a line are now filming music videos, performing at Roundhouse, and writing full EPs.

  • 🚀 Our lessons are built to level up: rhyme → flow → structure → delivery → performance → career.

This isn’t just a workshop. It’s a launchpad.

The People We Support

Finances

For many of the young people we work with, financial pressure is a daily reality. Some are growing up in households where every expense has to be carefully weighed, and “extras” like creative programmes are often out of reach. Others are navigating unpredictable circumstances where income may change month to month, leaving opportunities for personal development hanging in the balance.

In traditional creative industries, these young people are the most likely to be excluded, not because of a lack of talent or drive, but because the systems around them are built for those who can afford to “buy in.” Rap Club flips that model on its head. We remove the price tag entirely, making professional standard creative spaces, mentorship, and equipment available to everyone who walks through our doors.

Diversity at the Core of Rap Club

Rap Club is built on the belief that creativity knows no boundaries, and our community reflects that. Our members represent a rich mix of backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives and stories into the room.

This diversity is more than just numbers, it’s what makes our workshops, performances, and creative projects authentic, relevant, and impactful for the communities we serve.

Rap Club is a space where everyone’s voice matters, regardless of gender. Our current membership is made up of a larger group of male students alongside a smaller but equally important group of female students. While the numbers show more boys attending our sessions, the contributions of our female members are just as vital to the culture, creativity, and success of the club.

In a creative environment like Rap Club, balance is about more than numbers. It is about making sure that every young person feels encouraged to take up space, to be heard, and to lead. For many of our female students, joining a male dominated space can be a bold step. By fostering a welcoming and respectful environment, we have created a place where they can grow in confidence, experiment with ideas, and build the skills they need to thrive in music, media, and beyond.

In fact, One of our partner schools is home to just two female Rap Club members, yet their impact has been incredible.

Our goal is to keep building a Rap Club where gender never limits opportunity, and where collaboration across different perspectives continues to be one of our greatest strengths.

Case Study

Hearing from the Team

We asked members of the Spit Game family to share their experiences, proudest moments, and thoughts on why the work we do matters. Their words capture the impact of the projects, the growth they’ve experienced, and the community we’ve built together.

Tate

What’s one moment in Spit Game that changed you — or stuck with you? ‘I think one moment in SpitGame that changed me/stuck with me was my first lesson with Turner. He had nicknames for everyone he was teaching and mine was “TittleTat”. I knew from the moment I met him that we would make something great.’

How has being part of Spit Game impacted you creatively, personally or professionally? ‘I think my creative mindset has definitely improved since being a part of the team, from the films to the SpitGame episodes and cyphers. I took each project we did as an opportunity to learn and progress my creative portfolio.’

If someone asked you why Spit Game matters — especially for young Black creatives — what would you say? ‘SpitGame matters because it puts young black creatives in a position to have a voice, it’s a platform for the people that don't have the opportunity to express their talent in a way where they don't feel judged.’

Quotes

We asked the Spit Game family to reflect on their journey — the moments that shaped them, the lessons they have taken away, and why the work we do matters. These are their words, straight from the people living it.

Tresor

‘The Spit Game matters because one way or another they represent the voice of the youth in ways that can’t be ignored.’

Toni

‘Before Spit Game, I never really rated my own talent like that. Being here showed me I can actually hold my own with serious creatives, and now I back myself every time I touch a mic or a camera.’

Ria

‘Spit Game gave me the space to be myself without feeling like I had to water it down for anyone. The energy in the room makes you wanna go harder every time.’

Vidal

“It’s not just music or film, it’s the way Spit Game makes you believe your story is worth telling. That confidence changes everything.”

Together, these voices show the real heart of Spit Game — a place where talent gets noticed, stories get told, and confidence gets built. The creativity is powerful, but it’s the community that makes it unforgettable.
